ok i have a 1995 gst and was wanting to upgrade the turbo but im only begining to learn about dsm so i was wondering is there a upgraded turbo that will bolt on to the stock exhaust system?? or what will i have to do? thanks for the help

their are a lot of turbos that will bolt to the stock 02 houseing. That connects the turbo to the DownPipe, which is the start of the exhaust system. On a stock exhaust, and im assuming stock everything else, i wouldnt go larger then a 14b turbo. Also get a boost controler and a boost gauge as well. Personally, i would upgrade fuel, exhaust. Also get a few gauges to monitor what the car is doing. On top of a boost gauge, a wideband, water temp, oil pressure and temp are good starts as well.

Hope this helps. Post up any more questiosn u may have.

MHI 20G, Fp Green, Fp Red, GT30, GT35, all will bolt on. However you have to buy and exhaust system. The reason why you gain horse power on a stock turbo, when you bolt up an exhaust. Is because the stock unit is so restrictive that it frees up Horsepower, A.K.A back pressure when it is upgraded. If the stock turbo won't work with the stock exhaust, no upgradred turbo will. You can use your stock exhaust manifold and o2 housing. It will always flow better if ported and you will have better spool time, and less boost spike. My AWD with a clutch , boost controller, 3inch o2 housing , downpipe, and catback w/o the cat. I went 12.8 @104 thru the stock sidemount and piping with a 14b. That is with no fuel controll, and using the mass air, and cam angle to tune w/ knock count and 02 datalogging. That same setup has been 12.6@106 and made 274 fwhp on the dyno. It's not about what you have, but how you use it "new guy". Welcome to the dsm family, remember tuning is everything.

well the car has a blitz turbo timer boost gauge oil pressure gauge a/f gauge,, a turboxs mbc and a turboxs bov with a greddy fmic w/piping the motor has only 8,000 miles so this is the setup im working with and a full apexi exhaust

no fuel upgrades i dont think i mean this guy i got it was was doing mods but i dont know what he all did so as far as i know nothing that i can tell umm i cant seem to really find 14b turbo what about the small 16b i have found alot of them or is that to big??

in theory no turbo is to big, its about how much boost you run. But a small 16g would work for you, just keep the boost down untill you get injectors, a larger fuel pump W/ rewire, a way to control the fuel IE S-AFC or DSMLink, and a FPR

cheapest way to get some more power for under 200 is to rewire your fuel pump, get a good 14b, port your 02 housing yourself.

what do you mean rewire my fuel pump??? and i still cant fing any 14b turbos all i can find is 16g with the install kit or now im debating on just getting a header for my t25 turbo i guess i mean do the t25's put out decent power??

the T25 can make decent power, but going to a different manifold isnt going to do much. Rewiring the fuel pump not give you more HP. Porting the O2 will but wont make much of a difference with the T25. To get good power out of a T25 you need nitrus.
If you can find a 14b get a 16g and keep the boost around 15-16psi untill you upgrade the fuel. At that point a FP rewire will help some, but upgrade the FP and get larger injectors, 550cc is good for a 16g, or get larger if you think you will want more at a later point.

Mod once, not twice. Think of the power level you want, and make a plan. Don't do that retarded "buy this and and then i'll go bigger" SHIT. I had everything t-25, 14b, b16g, 18g, pte 50 trim, FP green, 60-1, GT35r, 20g, and now i'm back with a gt30. The last turbo i'm getting is another gt35r. I've been on six stock motors and i'm on my only built motor now. I think God my friends were able to help me rebuild my car so many times, before I could do it myself. I was on stock motors untill the 20g setup, and only got the a built bottum end, because of nitrous. My first nitrous setup on the stock motor didn't last long. I then went out and spent the money on a another Nitrous kit, and fueling system that made it easy to tune and more relieable. Learn from my mistakes, don't repeat them. To the smart guy with the quote above. CFM, (the air the Turbo kicks out) is what's important. Yes, there is extra stress on the motor with more boost, however size like everything esle in life is important. Why would you want to run a 42r at 7 psi on a stock everything motor? It'll still max out a stock fuel system, and won't be shit to drive. He should buy all those supporting mods first, and buy the tubo last. That would make alot more sence, what do you think? As an FYI, some t25's have made it into the 12s. Most alway upgrade after an 13 second pass. How many people do you think have upgraded turbos, running what stock turbos have run or slower? Ahh, I just saw you last post and it says almost the same thing, so I guess never mind.

I totally agree with what you said. The only reason i like the idea of upgrading threw turbo, specially with a new driver, is not going from 200hp to 800hp, that makes you dead.
I also have gone threw the stages. T25, 14b, 16g, im hopeing to a gt35r but we shall see.
And to what you said of upgrading all the supporting mods first, most definatly. No reason to run a gt42r on a stock system, but im sure some dumbass out their has tried.
