I am planing on turboing my n/t talon rebuliding engine and everything I hav gotten a full stock turbo set-up which includes ecu, turbo, intercooler, maf sensor, piping, etc. I was wonder what compression ratio i should run 8.5:1 or 9:1? I am planning on borin atleast .20 over so would i be ok with pte 550cc injectors and what fuel pump would you suggest? Thanks!

I personally have not done exactly what you are doing but common practice is if you plan on modifying fuel delivery- fuel injectors, fuel pump, or have increased fuel pressure you need a way of compensating for that increase.

What I am trying to say is you need a tuning system. Personally I would suggest ECMlink v3. I suggest looking into it - ECMTuning, Inc.. For a stock setup you probably dont need much more than a walbro 190lph fuel pump. If you decide to go with a walbro 255lph fuel pump then you will want to look into an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator (afpr) as the stock fpr will be overrun. Think of your goals for the car and decide on what you really need.

I cant speak on the other aspects of turboing and N/T so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Hope this helps,
Best of luck

How hard is it to tune the car I have no eperience with turbos and am just kind of guessing as to what I need.

Also the ecu i got with setup is an eprom do i need a tunner or anything?

Depending on your goal, and fuel you plan on using, 9:1 will work. If you plan on running strictly pump gas stick with 8.5:1 just to be safe.

What is your end game for this car?

If you are doing a stockish build w minor upgrades then 8.5:1 is less complicated. mind you 9:1 isnt much more compression, but there is the increased chance for detonation. Since you are relatively new to tuning i would keep it simple.

For the tuning,
theoretically if you had stock injectors and stock fuel system- everything stock- and you put everything together proporly it should be fine with just the ecu you have. However when you move away from stock you need a way to compensate.--> dsmlink or other tuning devices.

Its a good thing you already have an eprom ecu- that will save you some cash. Give the dsmlink site a read, and also do some reading up on what other guys who are in your position are doing.
This site is a fantastic resource.
