does anyone else have a problem with the 4 turbo bolts on the exhaust manifold vibrating loose? idk why mine do it they look like theyre in decent condition. should i try ordering some high temp bolts from ffwd? any suggestions?

Are the cup washers still on the bolts? There should be two washers per bolt, with the little dimples facing opposite directions; toward the manifold base and toward the bolt head. Torque to about 40-45 ft/lbs.

yes both washers are still on them and yes ive tried wiping them down real good and cleaning them off. im stumped. does anyone make high temp teflon tape or soemthin like that? jsut so i cna wrap the bolts up so they stop vibrating and maybe fit snugger (idk if thats a word haha)

I had the same trouble...only way i got them to stay was to tighen them up and then go for a drive....then tighen them again once hot.....then they stay tight...i know it is more then the reccomend but the have stayed tight for months....where before they wouldback out in 2 days

i dont know what to do anymore. They always vibrate loose and i always have to tighten them down. should i just wait until i get my new exhaust manifold and get new bolts? or is there something i can do for now that will keep them nice and tight? maybe order the new bolts now? also im not sure what exhaust manifold i should get. tubular or cast iron ported. the tubulars are kind of alot of money but seem to flow good with 50 trim turbos. or maybe i should get a turbonetics or evo3 and have the collector ported. any ideas??

Loctite is useless because the manifold heat will burn it all off. Those bolts should be torqued at 40-47 ft-lbs.

I would recommend getting the SBR ported exhaust manifold. Great manifold and I would stay away from tubular on the street. It is more of a strip intended manifold. Your turbo bolts could be stripped a little too. When mine wouldn't stay in I went to a hardware store, got 4 bolts that were about 1/4'' longer and used those with just plain flat washers. Never had a problem again. Sometime's you can mess up the first few threads and they won't hold properly.

I believe they have high temp. loctite.

They do but those bolts get hotter than any loctite could hold. Plus if you want to take them loose you don't want to be cranking on them and be flexing a bunch of stuff trying to get them out.
