Ok so I take the turbine housing off to port it and find that the fan is chipped on the back side. all the blades have a similair chip in them. I was wondering if anybody else had this and does it mean the turbo is going to die soon, or if you know if I may have some more life in it. If needed, I'll go take a picture of it. (Its a 14b by the way). Thanks for the input!:laser: :(

I believe its the stock turbo on a car with 150,000 miles. I don't know if it's been rebuilt before. I got the car at 117,000.

Heres a pic of it, sorry its small and blurry I had to use my cell phone.

All that means is that at some point in the engines life, some metal went through your engine and got spit into the turbo. It MIGHT hinder performance slightly but nothing to worry about. Check your seals and feel around for shaft play. If you have a little side to side play its not bad, but if you have in and out (axial) then I would get a new turbo.

That turbo is fine.

Theres a little side to side, no in and out. Its probably from when I threw my balance shaft bearings out at the strip (not one of my finest moments in shifting). Thanks, my mind is at ease. Sometime within the year I'll probably upgrade to a 16g anyway, but it's really good to know that this thing is shot.
