coolant temp was around 212, intake air temp was around 154, the "idle" column is my idle switch, for some reason its staying on. so first things first...

1.how can i get my coolant temp down? im gonna figure out how to wire my AC fan to my cooling fan so i can get them both spinning but what else can i do?

2. how can i get my intake air temp down? im going to put my heat shields back in place (last owner... :notgood:)

3. what can i do to get my knock down? im working on getting some race gas locally, what octane should i aim for? im also turning the boost down, im at 14psi, gonna go down to 10ish

4. why is my idle switch staying on? is it the little bugger on my TB towards the rear? its all sorts of messed up if its the one im thinking of (having an idle problem where sometimes itll idle at 1500-2000rpms, if i rev it sometimes itll drop and stay around 1000 although itll fluctuate, is this related?)

5. what else could be causing my timing to retard besides the knock, intake temp, and coolant temp?

also, what are my fuel trims, where should they be, and how can i work with em?

im trying to learn as i go here. :rocks:

intake temp 122-129 deg
coolant temp 195~ deg

This is after putting my heat shields back on and lowering my boost to 10 PSI.

Where is your air filter located? 154* is too high of an intake temp, even if you're running through a good intercooler. If you or somebody you know is good with sheet metal, have them fab up a simple shield around the air filter. Lower air temps will decrease your chances of knock.

1.how can i get my coolant temp down? im gonna figure out how to wire my AC fan to my cooling fan so i can get them both spinning but what else can i do?

There are a few posts around here that show you how to re-wire your fans so that both of them kick on. The wiring circuitry in my Galant is different, so I can't help you there.

2. how can i get my intake air temp down? im going to put my heat shields back in place (last owner... :notgood:)
Put the heat sheld back on. Try to fab up another heat sheld to put around the air intake as well.

3. what can i do to get my knock down? im working on getting some race gas locally, what octane should i aim for? im also turning the boost down, im at 14psi, gonna go down to 10ish
At 14 psi, you might experience some knock, but not as much as what you posted in that first log. Check your knock sensor by feeling for any gooey material on it. That gooey stuff is supposed to feel solid, not sticky, and you shouldn't be able to feel the screw that holds the wiring in place on it. If that material is gone, then it's not helping to filter out the common engine sounds and every noise the engine picks up will be interpreted as knock.

4. why is my idle switch staying on? is it the little bugger on my TB towards the rear? its all sorts of messed up if its the one im thinking of (having an idle problem where sometimes itll idle at 1500-2000rpms, if i rev it sometimes itll drop and stay around 1000 although itll fluctuate, is this related?)
The idle switch is the small switch that the throttle plate hits when it's closed. If it's not triggering when it's supposed to, it's probaby gone south.

5. what else could be causing my timing to retard besides the knock, intake temp, and coolant temp?
That's about it, though knock, will be your most significant factor in retarding knock. If you take are of the other two, the knock count will decrease and your timing should be good again.

also, what are my fuel trims, where should they be, and how can i work with em?
http://www.vfaq.com/TMO/Tuning-Tips.htm
This can explain it better than I can. Unless you have a piggyback tuning device (SAFC, MAF Translator, etc.) there's not much you can do with your trims other than make sure they're as close to 100% as possible and if they're not, figure out why they're off.
