Hello,

Well i really did not want to make a post but after many days of researching and reading and many fails i really need some help from you guys.

I am trying to tune my car as close as possible to proper a/f ratio using only MMCD and SAFCII since at the moment i do not have enough spare cash for a wideband.

Well first of all here are my mods: Big 16g, Walbro 255, b&m afpr, fmic, evo 8 mas, evo 8 560cc, 2g exhaust manifold, autometer boost gauge, hallman pro mbc (15psi), crushed 1g bov, 2g throttle body elbow.

Yes i used the search on the forum and have bookmarked many pages and i just need some questions answered since i been getting mixed results from my researching.

1. Well first of all i really need a base to start off my tuning. I have not seen anybody with the same mods as me post an example of their settings so i can maybe use that on my car to start off from.

2. According to this: 450/560-1=.196=-20% correction. I should be taking 20% fuel off for make up for injector size difference. But when i used that down the low/high settings, the car was running rough and fuels trims went way over 100. I'm guessing it is because the evo 8 mas actually flows more air so i have to take away less than 20%. Am i right?

3. Just to clarify: 100+=lean, 100-=rich right?

4. And i know this question has been answered a lot, but like i said each post gave me way different answers. What do you guys recommend me logging on the MMCD logger. So far i am practically recording almost everything since that's what a lot of people were suggesting.

Thank you for your time

With out a wideband there is not going to be many people that are going to help you "tune" like this .
Even if your using a meter of your stock o2 its not accurate at all and by feeling a tune is a good way to pop your motor. With that being said I would a good base to start with low side -18% and high at -15% that will get it running but should be rich.

Next time if you're on a budget, spend wisely. 560 injectors and a big 16g do not require a 255 pump & afpr. A 190 pump or an EVO8 (good for about 23psi on an EVO) or EVO9 (flows about 205) pump with the stock FPR could have saved you some cash. But, that's in the past. From what I have read, you need a way to rescale the EVO MAS and I don't think you'll be able to do so with just a SAFC. Having only that and a datalogger, the only idea I have is to put your 1g MAS back in and log your idle fuel trims for about 15-20 minutes and see how much fuel it adds or subtracts for the 560's and adjust accordingly. Once that is dialed in go do some cruising for 15-20 minutes at a steady speed, keeping the car out of boost, and log your mid fuel trims. Then adjust the SAFC accordingly in the rpm range. You can keep taking out fuel doing WOT runs and when you get a couple counts of knock, add some fuel back in. Not the best way of tuning, but it's about all you can do.

Ok thanks, yeah i just need a base tune for now until i am able to get a wideband on my next paycheck which is in 3 weeks.

Well when i bought the car that was what it had modded. The only things i been doing are repairs(control arm, axles, wheels bearings, timing belt, alternator, mbc, exhaust). It had a previous tune, but my car got broken into and they took my radio, safc, and a few other items.

I'll see if i can get a hold of a 1g mas so i can calculate the difference and go from there. Thanks
