Not long ago i purchased a 90 talon from a friend and its been giving me issues. I've been trying to datalog with tunerpro and it just says connecting forever. I must also note the ecu is chipped and that when the car had a check engine light. i was able to read it by watching the check engine light flash without even jumping the diagnostic port. What in the world is going on?

It must have a custom chip in it and coding to flash the CEL with the code it's producing. If it just says connecting forever, are you sure you're connecting to the proper COM port? What logging cable are you trying to use? Are you hitting connect to ECU or are you hitting "begin capture" on the log? If you're hitting "connect" then it's going to fail because you don't have an Ostrich.

It definitely has some kind of custom chip when i opened the ecu, the sticker on the chip reads tmo but i doubt it a real tmo chip. Also with the key on engine off i can hit the gas and the boost gauge will fluctuate. i think this changes the function of the boost gauge to read knock and a couple other things but i dont know what. i am infact using the right port, in the device manager is listed under port 3 and thats what i have it set as and i am hitting "start/stop data scan" to connect.
