I wrapped my Tubular Manifold and I'm not sure how much I like it.Is it worth the decrease in underhood temp and spoolup time.(with the principle hot gasses flow faster).Anyone with a Engineer background can chime in on why it's worth keeping or why not.BTW I still need to trim some of the frays.So I can make it look a little better.

First off, ditch the dot dot dot's at the end of your sentences.

Yes, it will decrease underhood temperatures and keep the heat in the exhaust, but it will also trap moisture to the metal. Even though it is SS (or at least I hope it is) it will still oxidize. Your best bang for the buck would be to have it ceramic coated, then heatwrap it.
 
Get a hood vent, take the wrap off. Your mani is at a higher risk of cracking with a wrap.
 
Oh, Sorry about the Dot dot dot's, just a bad typing habit that I do when I'm thinking. Then on the other hand this isn't English class either. So now that we have both added unnecessary comments lets get to the point. I have not considered the moisture factor. That is a good point and even though it is SS it will still rust because there is still a ton of carbon in SS. I won't be driving it in the rain but the wrap will hold any condensation and moisture in untill it heats up again. Hmm I think I will remove it. Cracking can be a problem with these anyway and eventhough I trust Slowboy (it's there equal length mani) I will take any edge I can get for longevity. So points made no need to discuss any more.
 
I would say that unless you are building an all-out track-only car and are trying to shave-off a few hundredths of a second, I would vote to remove the wrap.
 
Heres my opinion.

I am getting my custom T3 manifold from Tim at punishment late this week. The manifold is made of 316ss thick walled tubing. Right now the manifold is at Jet Hot getting Ceramic coated in "jet hot 2000".

However, I am also wrapping it in black header wrap.
 
I have no heater nor A/C. It's not a DD but It will see a nice sunny days on the street. I still think I will lose the wrap. I did not mention that I have a vented hood and I can always wrap parts that are in danger of a meltdown.
 
Have it coated. Or build yourself a heat shield to cover the manifold.

If your going to want to show your engine from time to time. Wrap doesnt show to well, expecially after it takes some weathering. The chrome will blue after a few weeks. Ceramic will holt up well as long as they get a good adhesion to the chrome.

Your going to want to put some type of heat shield on your hood right above the manifold. Vented or not, too much heat will make a CF, fiberglass hood crack and the paint above will follow, unless they painted it with a higher temp auto paint. Be safe than sorry, $10 heat shield is way better than replacing a $400 hood plus paint and time.
 
How could I make a heat shield for that thing??? Actually I bet I could make a "blanket" out of the wrap to loosly wrap it when I'm not at shows and I'm running it at the track. Any other Ideas?
 
A heat shield doesnt have to be anything fancy, just some sheet metal that you can bend yourself or use 2x4's as a sheet metal brake. Attachment to the manifold can be done by bending yourself a flange to the manifold studs and using a secondary set of nuts to secure the shield. The front portion can be secured with an adjustable clamp to your wastegate flange, with a portion the the shield extending down between the radiator and turbo.
