For those of you who run a tubular exhaust manifold, what do you guys do for bolting your turbo to manifold?

I have a tubular manifold for my 20g. Im having the darnest time finding things that work.

I bought evo manifold bolts, they are perfect length, but the collector for the manifold is in the way. This is how it is for all 4 holes.

So what are you guys using on your manifolds? Any ideas.

just use a grinder and grind down the circular part around the bolt and with some pressure it will drop right in, i had this problem before

Order an exhaust manifold to head stud, its the larger one. If you don't have one laying around, order one from JNZ Tuning. Along with a conical washer and nut.

I just installed my ebay manifold and had the same problem on one bolt hole so i just switched buts to shorter ones and they worked perfectly. They were actually the bolts that come with my 3 inch megan DP. And another thing when its actually on the turbo it helps to bring the manifold up just a bit to let the bolt fit in better then thread them all in then let it drop the half an inch u had it up or so.

I used ACE hardware studs. They sell the correct thread pitch ones and are pretty short, I used them on my tubular mani when I had it.

Dude,

I JUST went through what you are going through. I went to Home Depot (after praying that they would have the screws). I found four of them, took the turbo and the manifold and measured the bolts to where they needed to be and cut the tops off of the bolts, as necessary. Once every bolt was measured up, I tightened her up and made sure all clearances were right and took it all apart after that. I used a dremel ot cut all the screws...

Good luck.

If you want to use something a little more purpose-built, there is an OEM O2 housing to turbine stud that is the correct size and is fairly short. I use 4 of these with a FP3052 and DNP tubular mani with good results, it's still kinda a pain in the ass but its not too bad.

Use a socket cap bolt. The head of these bolts have a much smaller diameter than hex head ones; while still maintaing the the same thickeness of the threaded portion. Check AceHardware or even Homedepot; they have em in metric sizes.

Autozone has ss grade 8.8 stud kits in there new DIY section. I have some of there bolts holding my downpipe and there doing really well.
