Ok... 1993 eagle talon tsi awd with approx 119,000 thousand miles. Turbo back exhaust, bigger fuel pump, upper pipe, and a slew of "maintenance" items, i.e. timing belt, water pump, etc. Also, i have a 1994 stock tranny, installed a year ago.
Here is the problem:
Drive to work today, no problems. Drive home from work...problems start. I was stopped at a red light behind a big truck. The light turned green, we went. No problems. Continues for about 35 feet, no changes. Went to pass the truck in the left lane, and this is where the problems start. From second, i went to pass the truck. All of a sudden, my car bucked, made a loud, almost grinding noise, started to choke, and then died rolling. After I freaked out, I rolled off the road and parked the car. Looked underneath to find oil dripping from my pan. Not too much, but definately dripping. Not sure what to do at this point, I looked for the leak, and couldnt find it. To the best of my knowledge, i placed the leak somewhere on the back of my engine, close to the firewall. Next i decided to start my car to see what could be the problem. The car started first try, ran shitty as hell, but DID NOT KNOCK. Let it run for a sec, revved it a few times. Didnt sound great, but didnt knock. Let the car idle, and it idled at about 500 rpms. Turned off. This all was in about 15 seconds. Looked under the car and found about three times the amount of oil dripping out now. Still couldn't find where it was coming from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott
