trying to find out the origin of my 6bolt

bought a 6bolt off a guy from east Indiana.. cant remember who he was or i would ask him.. but does anybody know of a site where i can look up my engine casting number and find out what year it was casted... because i am lost.. im building this engine and apparently they have to know if it was built before or after 1992.. not sure why but if im not mistaken they stopped building the 6bolt in 92.. but i wanted to make sure
 
Block Identification.

Pull the VIN # and call a dealership, they can give you info on the car. The next time you have a question use the sites SEARCH function, you could have answered your own question with a quick search. Its also important that you use correct punctuation, its a bit hard to read where one sentence...starts... and the other... begins. Use periods instead of ellipses and at least capitalize the word at the beginning of every sentence, it makes it easier to read. :coy:

In April of 1992 the 6-bolt was changed to a 7-bolt motor.

They stopped building the 6 bolt half way through 92 so it could still be off a 92. They switched over to the water cooled OFH in 91. If it is stock with an air to oil cooler than it is a 90 6 bolt. If it has the water to oil cooler than it is a 91-92.5.
