i have a 1995 eagle talon tsi awd

bought this car with a bad trans. i have a spare sitting in the garage but i need to know if it will work.

95 talon tsi, my trans code: kw5m332npzt 23 spline

my spare trans code: kw5m332npzs 22 spline

i just need to know if it will work, i know the splines are different but i have to take my spare trans in to have reverse fixed so would they be able to mix parts from my broken trans to fix my spare trans??

any help is good help im trying to drop it all off and get this project going

Sounds like your spare trans is from a 90 AWD. You cant put a 1G trans into a 2G car because the front engine mount on a 2G is on the transmission, whereas the front mount on a 1G is on the block; the 1G trans doesnt have provisions for the front mount, for starters, and the shift linkage on a 2G wont work on a 1G trans either. Regarding the different spline count, if you do not have a transfer case for the 90 transmission, the solution is to remove the rear cover of each transmission, remove the viscous coupler from each output shaft, and swap the 23 spline shaft and vc into the 90 transmission. I do know for a fact that some of the guts of the 90 transmission can be used in the 2G trans because my friend, Rick, used 90 tranny parts to make a working 2G AWD transmission once, if this is what youre asking.
