Transmission questoin

So I was curious if I can use a 95 trans in my 98 GSX, but from what I heard on Jacks site the gearing is different, is it that big of an issue or could I get away with it. Fyi my 2nd gear is making noise now, and grinding going into gear, and first gear pops out so a trans is in need asap.

I wouldn't see the problem if you need a tranny asap and that one is for a good price go for it. I'm don't know if it's higher or lower possibly lower ratio to give more low end which will be nice.

Well I know the gearing is diff from the transfer cases. I guess I will call jacks or shep and ask.

just get the transfer case with the tranny .. and you'll be good.

Well the trans I am looking at is 800, or I can take the car to shep and spend 1300 for a stage 1.....

1300 well spent. If you have $$ you'll be happier in the long run. Think that your 2nd gear is giving you issues now. The next stock trans may very well give the same issue. You won't have to be paranoid about launching.
