Hey guys, I am complete tranny and driveline retard. I am not sure how this works, so, please help me out.
So, I have a TSi AWD that's been sitting outside for a long time. I think the transmission is out, but I realize I have no idea now. I am a tranny retard. Here's how the story went.
1g, AUTOMATIC, AWD
Transmission leaking from axles seal. Car drove fine during that time.
Kid pulled axles, transfer case, driveshaft & replaced seal. Tried to start it, the car didn't move, and he gave up. I got the car, and haven't done anything to it. It's just sat the whole time I've owned it.
Car never moved again and squeaks really loudly. Metallic, almost like a broken clutch disc or something (I know it's auto though). When I put it in gear, something engages, because the rpms drop, but that's it. No movement in any gear. The car squeaks regardless of gear selection or neutral.
The driveshaft is out of the car as well as the transfer case still, so, as dumb as it may sound, I don't know if that's the problem. I am worried about the loud squeaking though, and am wondering what could cause that?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Also, is there a special priming process on Auto trannies after you drain them? Again, I am a retard with this stuff.... Thanks again.
