I have a very frsutrating problem. My team and I have been trying to figure out the problem but seems we have a lot to learn still.

The story so you can understand.
I bought the car 2 weeks ago knowing it had a bad transmission.
Driving to my parents the next day I shifted and I heard a deep bang and I could no longer engage the clutch. At first I figured i blew the clutch but there was no smoke and no smell of the clutch burning. So next though went to the transmission.
I Replaced the transmission myself since It needed a new one anyways.
I still have the same problem though.
I didnt think about checking the clutch but my team keeps telling me since I have pressure its still in decent shape.
I can shift gears just fine.
I cant start the car without pressing the clutch first, but when in gear and I let go of the clutch to kill the engine, nothing happens.

Whats my problem and where do I start?
Thanks guys.

Ok, well I'm sure I'm not the best to ask but since no one has said anything I guess I will take a shot.

First off I would say the only reason you cant start your car without the clutch in (disengaged) is because theres a electronicle switch that doesn't allow you to start your car without it in, like the neutral safety switch in a auto. Pretty sure it doesn't actually matter if your clutch is actually disengaged but only that you actually have the pedal down.

Since your car isn't dieing in gear that seems to me could only be 1 of 2 things, either your clutch is never engaging at all which it should be engaged all the time that your not pushing down your clutch pedal or your trans isn't going into gear when your putting it in gear. So I guess here is what i would do. You should be able to feel with your car off if your actually getting into a gear. I would just run though them and I think its pretty obv. if its going into gear or not. If thats not it then i would assume your clutch isn't engaging at all.

The only possible way I can see that happening is if there is something wrong with your clutch itself. I assume your saying you have pressure as in you mean, you feel pressure when you push the clutch down, you could look under the car at the slave cylinder and make sure its pushing the fork in and out. But if you have pressure it most likely is and that would tell you that it almost has to be your clutch. Of course it would be possible that your pedal is so far out of adjustment that its disengaging even at the top...not for sure if this is possible but when you push the clutch in it, you should feel when it hits the pressure plate and get harder. Someone else I'm sure can help more but just some things you can try to check to narrow it down a little.

Thanks bro for the reply.
It for sure goes into gear when I shift when its off.
Ill check the pressure and see whats up.
Im also paying a mechanic to come by and inspect it for me.
Ill let you guys know what happens.
Worst case I pull the tranny and change the clutch...argh!
