Transmission Prep

So I just picked up a used transmission off ebay for my project car. Should be here tomorrow and i've been itching to put it in. What all do i need to do prep wise? Meaning do i have to re-oil the new tranny or anything of that sort? I know i'll have to drain the fluid off the old and put new in when i do the swap. I just wanna make sure i do it right the first time round.

yeah new gear oil and i would replace the axle seals while your at it. You dont want to find out they're bad after the install is complete. You are aware of what exactly is involved in removing the transmission right?

Yeah i've been reading til my eyes bleed about it. I also have a buddy who's done some tranny work to come help me out. I just wanted to double check about the oil.
