transmission noise

After an on-ramp pull the tranny started making a loud clicking sound that increased with RPMs. I pulled out the transmission thinking maybe something was wrong with the clutch and It all looked fine. Basically in any gear, turning the input shaft results in the same clicking sound and sometimes it sorta locks up and releases. Anyone have any ideasof what might be wrong? thanks.

If it is 'clicking' on the inside you will have to pull it apart to see. Could be several things from broken gears to diffs.

So, its been half a month, what did you find out. Did you tear apart the engine or did you let it be?

Happened to me a couple months ago. Turned out to be that third gear lost 4 teeth.
