Transmission ID#

Hi Guys,

A few weeks ago i came across a website that showed what the transmission # is. For example, a 2.4L engine with a transmission # F4A23. I think

F = front wheel drive
4 = the # of gear
A = Automatic
2 = ?
2 = Revision

It this correct ? Could anyone post me the link please.

In addition, is the F4A22 the same as the F4A23. I really need some help

So my question is will a F4A22 work in a 2.4L engine that had a F4A23? . According to the website above the last two digits 22 or 23 being the series (relative torque) does it matter ?
