I absolutely HATE to do this, but I can't wait until April to figure this out. Real quick background, I bought my 90 GS-T while I was home for my 2 weeks R&R. It has a few bolt-on mods, nothing too special. Anyway, I was told by the guy I bought it from that the turbo was from an Evo VIII. I have no idea if this is true or not. :ohdamn: I can assure you that the reason for this is not because I didn't/don't care, but It has been a very long deployment, and there were other things that I wanted to accomplish in my short time home. (I'll leave that up to your imaginations...) Getting to the point, I asked my wife to read the writing on my bov (or bpv). It is currently venting to atmosphere. I want to figure out if I am going to have to pick up another bov or if I can just buy a recirc. tube for it. And of course, it's running rich. So much, in fact, that when it is cold it will flood and die. Is that normal?? My wife couldn't find anything on the bypass valve, but she did take me some decent pictures. Same story and course of action with my turbo. I'm sure some of you on here wont even have to think before naming these off. (Maybe not with the turbo, you can kinda see the compressor housing, and not much of the turbine)

The turbo I can't pinpoint because I see no identifying marks. If she can take ott the j pipe and get another pic behind that, we should be able to help you out.

The bov looks like a knockoff NGR, or Greddy type s.My guess is knockoff.

The bov kind of looks like a greddy knock off. You should definitely recirculate though, just buy the correct size hose and run it from your intake to the big opening on the Bov. As for the turbo I can't say too inexperienced with that hehe. Should try and get a picture of the serial number makes it easier to look up. Best of luck!

Right but the serial number is behing the j pipe. And I see no tdo5 stamping. Also a pic of the compressor wheel will narrow it down. But if it is a 16g I'm going to need the serial number..

I had to photoshop a picture of my engine bay pointing out where my bov and turbo were just so she could find them, I really doubt I am going to be able to talk her into pulling the j-pipe off LOL. I think i'm pretty much sol until I get home, unless I can get my little brother over there to look for the serial number or other markings. Does it even look like it could have came off of an Evo though? I have no idea. And on the bov, I think I would be better off with just picking up a 1g bov. This one kinda worries me...

1g bov will work just fine, if not better. Be sure to clog up those holes made from the current bov though.

The flange itself is a 1g bov style but to put on the current bov the previous owner drilled 2 new holes into the flange. So while a new 1g bov will bolt right on, the 2 new holes might make it leak. I really hope its a 16g they are pretty nifty!

So the Evo VIII turbo is a 16g then? That would be great.

On the bov flange, it won't matter when I get the fmic kit right? Since it will have flanges for the 1g?

It is definately not an evo viii turbo. It could be an evo iii turbo. evo vii or ix are totally different from what we see here. I also don't see the tdo5 stamps. I'm going to guess a china ebay special. Without better pics it's hard to tell.

It's not an evo 8 turbo.Probably evo3, or 14b, possibly ebay 16g, but who knows.

That raised concern for me too.No tdo5 markings.

If your wife can get the camera to take a picture behind the j pipe. And it shows a plate, or MHI serial numbers would help identify it alot better.

Even taking off the intake pipe, and a pic of the compressor wheel would help narrow it down.

Now THAT I think she can handle. I will probably try that and go from there, other than that, I would have to have my brother pull the j pipe. May end up doing that anyway, he's like me, he'll take any excuse to take something apart/tinker LOL
