Transmission Gearing

Hey everybody, I recently purchased a 1990 AWD Talon, to find out the transmissions housing is severely cracked. I then found a company who imports motors and transmissions from Japan. What I am trying to find out though is if I can use one of there transmissions and transfer cases on my car or if i'll have problems.

they keep there stuff on the shelf for a long time. lots of time in won't work. its like buying from ebay. some time will work some time not work.

if its just craked and not separated then in the mean time you could weld it if your on a tight budget... until you find a decent priced one..!!!

yep awd trannys r hard to fined in a junkyard

You could just send it out for a stock rebuild. They will charge you to fix the crack, but it will get fixed.

that is the best thing to do. that way your done with that part

Sorry guys, guess I should have been a little more descriptive. It is completely seperated by one of the mounting bolts and what not. I also kept finding what looked like little tiny needle bearings underneath my car while I tried to pry my passenger side axle out.

bearings falling out= not a good sign

Yea, i'm fairly positive the transmission is shot. The motor still runs ok-ish, definitley needs a tune up.
