I have a problem with my tranny bolts. for some reason some of my tranny bolts come out, causing it to not want to go into gear and tranny separating from the block. my starter bolts actually did the same thing and i almost lost my starter. but fixed those and rigged them so they would not come out, lock washers, torqued, and lock tight. on my tranny bolts too. when i first bought it did that and the tranny jerked and broke an ear off and i had to pull and get welded. and now it just happened again and i wanna know the problem. the threads in the block arn't stripped and go in fine. right now i'm running all stock just a downpipe, thinking that might be a cause. and my car also does have a bad idle surge. hoping to get this fixed so i can sell and upgrade.

thank you

Did you put all trans bolts in there are five 2 on top one in rear and one in lower front, did you use dowel pins? Make sure there arent stripped.

umm not sure if theres a 5th one in or not dont remember. but i know top back has a broken bolt in it. all dowl pins are in and yea the other top one is tight cause thats where the ear broke off. might be cause its missing one on back and top back. not positive. but i had my uncle look at it and he used a ratchet and tightened as tight as possible. and hes a professional mechanic thats worked at a known transmission shop for 30 years so he knows what hes doing. and he woulda told me if they were stripped. didnt seem like it.

it didnt happen right away, it broke and i pulled it and fixed it and put back in and probably a month later it broke again. over time it was getting worse. harder to get into gear, not wanting to shift at higher rpms. and not know much about transmissions i thought my clutch just needed bled.

Well thats it the rear broken bolt its going to come loose mine did cracked my bell housing so i had a
stud placed in there and a nut barely fits but it does, no more problems also my DOWELS were in place good luck. Take out that bolt and retap the hole or have a stud placed there.
