Ok Guys i Kinda Stumped right now i wanted to get your guys opinion before to pulled the trans back out again
Trans came out the first time to get new 3rd and 4th synchronous then i put it back in everything worked fine.
Had to pull the trans because I ended up breaking the end off the 3-4 shift rail in side so i just replaced it with a different one i had laying around. This was do to using the wrong shifter base cables and trans bracket so i think i over stroked it and broke it off.
Witch leads me up to the Problem. Got everything in and hooked up correctly but now second gear grind really bad going in. Not like a bad synchro bad but like the clutch is not fully disengaging. The shifter will go to its position but the gear will grind a bit until it finally catches. There is no resistance going in to second i don't have to force it in it just grinds when going in. like a 1 or 2 second grind then catches and then i am fine. The grind happens before i get to the shifter bump stop on the shiftier base.
Side note I am running a 91 trans in a 90 car i have the 90 shiftier base in the 90 trans shiftier cable bracket and i believe the 90 shifter cables. ( DO THE 90 SHIFTIER CABLES HAVE ONE ADJUSTABLE CABLE AND ONE NON-ADJUSTABLE CABLE) But this is a 91 trans at least from the inside the gear sets looks like the 91 and up. but the shifter arm is a short arm. That is the way it has been even before i bought it so that is why i am running all the 90 shift parts.
Any ideas i was going to try some more stuff tonight to figure out the problem. Then if i cant find anything more then i guess ill have to pull the trans out and take it apart again.
