I've got a 95 gsx with a 6bolt and some othe mods nothing to big yet. I have an ACT 2600 clutch. My problem started a few days ago. I went to class (1/2 hour drive) and I was sitting in my car getting my stuff out and the car made and awful grinding noise. I turned it off and tried to restart it and it made the same noise. I was already running late so I went to class. Came out (6 hours later) and it was fine. drove home and stopped for gas, and while it was idling it did it again. So i drove home (only a few blocks) and it was fine. Next day fine in the morning but on my way home from work the clutch wouldn't disengage. I replaced the slave, nothing, I replaced the master ($$ OUCH) still nothing. The clutch will stick to the floor like there is no back pressure on it. I check and it pushes the fork and when it sticks the fork stays over. So I'm thinking it's something with the clutch. I'm going to replace the trans fluid today though I doubt that will help. I did a cw check (despite being a 6bolt) and it was fine. (I'm just paranoid).
Thanks,
EZ

Sounds like the pressure plate is weard or is overcentering. I would contact ACT explain your situation maby they have some advice.

Have someone push the clutch pedal while you observe the slave rod. It should move quite a bit. If not, possible air. If it's moving a lot and nothing is happening, then possible mechanical.

Good Luck

Yeah the rod pushes the fork but it stays "pressed" and only comes up if I lift the clutch pedal up.

I just rebled the slave and master (just to be sure) and I also replaced the trans fluid. My clutch still doesn't work!!! I guess I'm pulling my trans out tonight.

Yea, sounds like another failed ACT to me
I just got my trans off, and the ####ing act clutch broke!!!! I'll post some pics later, it's really messed up. I'm gonna e-mail act to see if the will give me money or a new clutch. Anyone know what kind of clutch I should get I've been looking around and can't really find anything specificslly recomending one over the other. Thanks EZ.

make sure the dowel pins are in where the tranny and engine bolt at the bottom of the engine. That has been a typical problem, at leat ACT says it is. Regardless, ACT will not likely refund your money. I had a movement against ACT and there was about 60 total cases that failed they way yours did. ACT has not refunded or compensated for any of the 60.

They gave me a flywheel for real cheap, problem as a hush gift.

Yeah, i read the posts about the dowel pins missing and causeing problems. Miner were in though. I don't expect a refund, I'm just glad my pressure plate and flywheel are ok, i saw what happened to yours.
