my clutch fried so i replaced it and it was making kind of a rattling sound before i changed it, and i believe it was my throwout bearing rattling against the pressure plate because of the wear around the bearing and the wear on the plate. after replacement with new oem clutch kit it continues to make the sound. what could be causing this??

The Throwout bearing is the key part of the clutch assembly that initializes the disengagement of the Pressure plate and the clutch. Just think, every time you press in on the clutch, this bearing has to forcefully press against the fingers of the pressure plate. It breaks down over years and extended use and will eventually get to the point that it was at when you replaced the clutch.

This is normal. Just change it with the proper OEM throw out bearing and you'll be fine.

Everything you said was reffering to before you changed the clutch. Is it still making noise?

is there some sort of fastener that holds the bearing to the fork?

Welp, I was more apt to help considering that all available information was supplied in the initial post. Now? Eh.
