When I put the car in reverse or drive it makes a very loud noise like a ziptie is closing. I took it to a tranny shop and he said it is normal, but I still don't think it is normal. ANyone here confirm?

Chrysler had to actually release a TSB for the Caravans a few years back saying the ratcheting noise is normal because so many people were complaining when shifting in to driver/reverse or coming to a stop(due to the solenoid pack being outside the trans it is more noticeable than most vehicles). From what I remember, your solenoid pack is also external so the noise being loud is normal.
