so as of tonight my car said no to gears after i dropped my friend off. It was kinda acting up when in hi rpms from 1st to 2nd but i thought i just needed some new tranny fluid. I was going to do it pretty soon but then this problem arose.
ok heres how it goes:
clutch pedal has pressure just like it did before and has no problems moving.
clutch itself doesnt disengage for some reason. Clutch fluid is full. No leaks anywhere so does anybody have any ideas. i looked and looked but couldnt find anything similar to this problem.. Thanks guys

Well, the first thing I'd suggest doing is to make sure everything is adjusted properly. You already checked out the hydraulic system, so do that next.

If the adjustments do not help, I'm afraid you might be looking at a problem with the pressure plate. I had this happen to me a while back, and found out that the pressure plate was broken.... broken to the point that the some of the fingers broke off!! It did the same thing you are complaining about; at first it would just be hard to get into some gears.. gradually it would not go into any gears at all.

It happened to me last season. You are gonna have to drop the tranny and check the clutch. In my case it was the actually clutch disc that had broken in half due to a broken tranny bolt (the little one in the rear). Good luck and report results once you drop it.

hmmm i dont like what u guys r saying haha idk ill b playing with it tomorrow to check the slave cylinder and what not its still sitting on the roll back till i get it to the unheated shop:C

Does it go into gear with the car off? IE putting the car in 1st and trying to start it makes the car move. If you can then its probably NOT a clutch problem. Something similar to this happened to me when my 1-2 shift fork broke.

well me and my dad were looking at it for a lil while before we had to go on a tow call and we had the rubber groument out while i was pushing on the clutch and he said things were moving so maybe there just not moving far enough so im going to try the adjustment today and yes i can put the car in gear when off try and start it and it does move forward

well went out there to check and the adjustment has already been done. i have come to the conclusion that the pressure plate is shot. but i dont have the time or cash to do this so im just going to sell it i spose cause i need a dd. i like it but not enough i have my race car in the garage so yea. i think 2200obo isnt bad for how clean it is and whats been done to it. Plus she runs falwlessly now.

ha well no i fix most of the stuff but i really dont have the cash for what i could have to replace while replacing the clutch. like i dont have money for the hubs if i have to tare those apart to get the axles out and what not or some seals or just hte random stuff...
