Does anyone have any good write ups documenting a tranny replacement?
1G AWD specific would be optimal.

Have you searched?

Remove UICP, move wiring harness, intake pipe, etc. - anything that blocks access to the transmission from the engine bay view.

Remove downpipe, transfer case, axles (unbolt the curved lower control arm and lateral (straight) arm) and swing out.

Remove trans mount, unbolt trans and wiggle off.

I recently sent 1g awd transmission to DogBoxRacing.com to be rebuilt with basic racing rebuild plus 4 spider diff, and double synchro for 3rd and 4th. It work great.

If you're looking for a writeup on how to physical pull the transmission out you'll find that info when you do a search.
