Hey, So I am in a bit of a panic here. I am involved in quite the little weekend project and as always something has to go wrong. I was replacing the clutch and transmission on my 91 AWD only to find out that the Center Shaft on the transmission I was putting in is lose. Now I opened up the Rear Cover to see if there was a snap ring or something that had come lose and I found a small steel ball in the case. Now as far as I can tell that ball goes in the little grove inside the spline on the Viscious Coupling correct? Is that how the Center shaft is held in place? If so how do I go about getting the Center shaft to fit back over the ball? Do I just use a hammer or would something like a C-Clamp be better suited. Please help as I was hoping to get this job over and done with this weekend.

On a side note I am replacing my Ball Joints, Tie Rods, CV shaft, Wheel bearings, Seals, Transmission, Transfer Case, Clutch and Flywheel. I shouldnt complain if this is the worst I have to deal with...

Thanks in Advance,

Garret

Nevermind... Some frustration, anger, and the use of my DSM Specialty tool got the job done. When in doubt, pound the **** out of it.
