hey guys a couple days ago i was driving my dsm in the rain (i have
no lower flywheel cover if that matters or not) and i was hitting
some standing puddles at 40 mph or so during the rain and then i pull
into my subdivision and run through some more standing puddles of
rain at slower speeds (i was trying to clean out my undercarriage
) and i was going through a puddle and my rpm's jumped up kinda
high to around 3500 or so and it felt like the tranny had gone into
neutral and then as soon as it revved up it caught and drove normal again and i dismissed
it as maybe my shifter wasn't all the way in drive.... it kept doing
that though and i realized i may have a problem.... so i make it
almost to my house and i lose all gears.. i coast in and try to put
it in reverse.... nothing.. drive... nothing 1 2 nothing... it was
all as if it was in neutral.. my tcu is less than a year old.... i
dont know what happened so i let the car sit maybe to let it "dry
out" maybe i shorted something is what i was thinking... so i get
back in it a while later and try to drive it up the street... it
seemed okay until it had to shift and i didn't even make it up the
street before it was doing the whole neutral thing again... it would
go up to like 3500 4000 rpm's then it would "catch"... it also made a
slight scraping/sliding sound.. so at this point i was like
thinking "this is bad" so i get it back down the street and smell the
fluid... BURNED. it smelled horrid... so i drained the fluid and
pulled the end clutch pack out and observe it but i dont dissasemble it
and everything seemed fine but i dont really know what i was looking
for...
all of this happened no matter if the overdrive switch was on or
off..
so can anyone tell me what i can do? should i fill it up with fluid
and try again? i had B&M trickshift in it (non synthetic)
