Track car question.

Im looking to make my 95 Talon into a track only car. With that being said what all can I remove that is unecassary? What I mean by that is the various components in the engine bay that are non essential. I have already removed all the A/C componets and have decided to stick with P/S although Im not sure my 4" downpipe is going to clear it.

Cruise control may also be removed with a non cruise control throttle cable.

If you have ABS you can also remove that. Not that the extra lines take up a lot of space. I just got sick of fixing the abs components.

Agreed, at least for drag racing. Are you going to be doing drag or something where you have to slow down for corners etc.? Some people say that having abs is not that bad. I personally won't be doing anything but drag really and am having engine bay space issues with my abs so I will be deleting it.

All the emissions, all power accessories except for alternator, all the plastic/metal shields.

Go with meth injection and you can lose all the weight from your intercooler setup. You can also easily get rid of 20 pounds by removing the sound deadening on the inside but its a pain the butt.

I wouldn't even want stupid ABS on my DD car, much less a race only car. I like ABS about as much as I like those stupid motorized seatbelts of the 1G's, but at least they aren't taking up a bunch of space under the hood.
