does the higher the stall mean the less gear you have? Like if I had a 4k tq converter then the gear would only pull from 4k on through 7k, but would that make the gear alot shorter? Like if my tq converter stalled at 2k and it took me to 40 in first gear then the 4k stall would only take me to 30 because all the gear was missing or does it just skip the bottom of the gear and go directly to pulling like an ape in the upper gear? Also, is daily driving on a high stall tq converter bad for it? If I am constantly cruising at like 2.5k on a 3k stall, wouldn't it just be heating up since it doesn't lock until 3k?

also do our converters have a lock up clutch, if not where can I get one with a high stall at 3k ?

BTW, TURFNNSURF

When are we going to look at your Ford pick-up? :)

Hey John, I was just thinking about that last week. The new truck has been a joy to drive but I still want to upgrade the valve body in its trans. I'll call you later this week to set up an appointment for it.
