OK, so when I plug my TPS in, my idle is perfectly fine, BUT when i push the throttle to the floor, the car just dies. When I have the TPS unplugged and push the throttle to the floor, the car revs up perfectly fine. Does anyone know what is wrong?? More importantly, how to fix it?

need more backround info.. did you just change the tps? why was it unpluged? did you change anything else? did you adjust it properly?

All i have recently done was change Intake manifolds... same 1g stock intake.

Also, I unplugged it because I was just testing different sensors to see if that was causing my engine to stall out when i give it full throttle.

okay well, it sounds roughly like the car isnt seeing the throttle, so its not adding fuel when you crack the throttle, or your fuel pump is out and there is no fuel to add. What you're describing sounds like how cars act when the fuel pump isn't working. if it started randomly and the TPS checked out okay when you tested it, i would check your fuel supply. is there any pressure at the rail? Im not sure on dsm's but on fords, if you take a small screwdriver and press the inside of the valve open (looks like a tire valve on fords) fuel should like SHOOT out of it. after the pump primes of course. if not, start looking in that direction. if there is fuel pressure, than double check that you are testing the TPS correctly. If idle is perfectly normal and it starts normaly, I wouldn't think spark, but its possible. check for vac leaks/boost leaks too.

setting and testing the TPS looks alot more complicated on our cars than im used to, as soon as i figure out how to do it ill let you know, (setting mine right now too)

Actually, there is one more thing I have recently done... and that is weld a crack shut that was on my stock fuel rail.... I SHOULD still have plenty of fuel pressure though... I will double check that Wednesday night.

Oh ok. That should be fine. Im at a loss right now. Im sick so my brain aint working right :(. Hope you get it figured out. Oh, do you know how to check it to make sure its adjusted right?

1. Loosen the 2 TPS screws.
2. Put a feeler gauge of .0177" under the stop screw
3. Turn the car to the ON position
4. Rotate the TPS until pins 3 & 4 lose continuity (open)
5. Verify that the voltage between pins 2 & 4 is .4-1 volt with the feeler still in.
6. Tighten TPS bolts and remove feeler gauge.
7. Verify that the pins 3 & 4 have continuity (shorted) when the throttle is closed and don't have continuity (open) when you open the throttle slightly.

The whole purpose of adjusting the TPS on a 2G is to make sure that the Idle Position Switch inside the TPS is telling the ECU when the throttle is closed.
