Hey guys, got my data logger working finally. and I'm throwing a code for TPS, heres what happends, I cleared it, and for a couple days it stayed off, then randomly I pull up, stop the car, and all of a sudden it idles from 1k to 1.5k back and forth, back and forth, then throws TPS code...do I need to replace it or what? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Josh

A year and millage would be great, you might need to adjust it or replace it. Or if you had a newer DSM there is a recal.

Sorry about that, its a 1g Talon, 115k miles on it...its about to get a new motor, so I'm trying to troubleshoot all the issues before swapping over the manifolds with sensors.. Thanks, Josh

The vfaq has a test that you can do with a voltmeter to check and see if it is working and adjusted right. Other then that....

yeah that requires yanking it out, which then would require resetting it correct? on my Conquest if you pulled the TPS, you had to go through a whole bunch of steps to set it back to where it needs to be voltage wise as you tighten the screws...my data logger can monitor TPS voltage, I just need to know what voltages need to be etc.. or if the TPS code means, replace no matter what.

rotate it until it reads .48-.49V at terminals 1 and 4 with the key in the ignition in the "on" position.

Actually 0.5v is the nominal voltage but that's close enough.
Log your TPS voltage and watch for any dropouts or spikes. It wouldn't be unusual on a 1G at this point for the TPS to be worn out. Mine died earlier this year, the voltage would start dropping out at various points once it got hot.
