I know there are quite a bit of threads with people asking for torque specs but half of them have invalid links and the other half just say "get a service manual". My problem is I'm replacing a head gasket and I need the Head Torque Specs for my 420A. If someone can just point me in the right direction that would be very helpful :hmm:

1. TORQUE ALL CENTER BOLTS TO 34 NM (25 FT LBS.), TORQUE THE 4 CORNER BOLTS TO 27 NM (20 FT LBS.).

2. TORQUE ALL CENTER BOLTS TO 68 NM (50 FT LBS.), TORQUE THE 4 CORNER BOLTS TO 47 NM (35 FT LBS.).

3. RE-TORQUE ALL CENTER BOLTS TO 68 NM (50 FT LBS.), TORQUE THE 4 CORNER BOLTS TO 47 NM (35 FT LBS.).

4. TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS IN THE SPECIFIED SEQUENCE AN ADDITIONAL 1/4 TURN.

Make sure you use the correct sequence. The center two bolts are 1&2, the ones to the right of them are 3&4, the pair to the left of center are 5&6, bounce to the other side, 7&8, etc, etc. Torque sequence is 1-10, in that pattern.

Hope this helps.
