Torque specs

I had to replace my harmonic balancer lastnight and my computer was down so couldn't look up the torque specs on the 4 little bolts, well it says you only need to torque them to 18lbs and I did them at 45lbs, should I loosen them then torque them back down to 18? Or does it not matter?

The specs are there for a reason. Loosen them back down if you can without breaking them. Jesus.

Torque is much more a matter of fastener size than magic. Print the chart here out and stick it to your toolbox lid:
