Im trying to install the torque converter on my 420a, and I have never installed one before I have done clutches countless times. But my question is this should the torque converter spin in every gear when installing it. Right now the torque converter is installed and seated properly, and the transmission is in park. Does the gear matter or will it spin in every gear.

when putting it in grab the nose of it and lift up and down while using the other hand to turn it back and forth. you will know it when its fully seated. youll hear kind of a thud or knock noise when its all the way in. if its not, youll be pulling it back out and replacing the pump.
