so i ordered a topline gasket kit and its coming with a head gasket and i dont know if i should trust it iver read alot of threads on here with mixed reviews can anyone tell me forsure this head gasket sucks ive read its fine to 25psi as long as knock is in check

also theres a gates timing belt and from what ive read gates made the OEM timing belts is this true i can get one for 30.00 and i wil hop on that if its actually a good belt i just dont want to waste my money cause of a belt im almost down to get a kevlar timing belt

Same here as I've never had my head off yet but I've used gates belts in many cars for ages and there great, but my next belt will the HKS purple belt and balance belt but that's really just for looks.

The gates belt is a nice piece. I'd use the topline gasket, it's pretty much the same as the oem composite, just get some ARP's if you're going to run 25+ psi.

Edit: Rock auto has a great deal on Gates timing belt component kit for like $58 Gates Timing Component Kit. Then all you need is a water pump and hydro tensioner and you're good as new.

Ttopline makes good products never used a topline head gasket, oem ones are cheap too, even felpro if your unsure i would get another if your unsure, you may get mixed answers. You wont get for sure unless anyone has pushed it to 25 psi or more i never saw one used on any cars from reading posts on rebuilds.

the car will be a stock rebuild using a 16g turbo also i will be buying the balance shaft elimination kit from ebay(should i go with another brand can these break?)

im getting arps already.

so is the 30.00 gates belt good for it or could it be a knock off fake gates belt?

Taking chances, with your engine is up to you and how you spend your money if you unsure. i would go oem and be done with it. Have you checked the vendors for parts? Lots of good stuff there we use on our cars, and for the money its good. Topline pistons ive seen but not a head gasket, a few more bucks for the really important things for me is a no brainer. I have had lots of rebuilds over the years, im down now and i did my resarch over the years on parts. Learned a lot and also looked at my long term goals.

im going to use the topline head gasket with arp head studs and some copper spray should hold up fine:pray:

Just get the OEM stubby shaft (with the groove) with your BS eliminator kit. The gate's belt is probably real, shit, they are only $24 bucks for the belt alone on rock auto. You probably want to do the idler and tensioner pulleys too though. You don't want a $10 pulley to seize up and make your timing skip.. Odds are it won't happen, but for how cheap the pulleys are, why take the chance?

Here's the oem part numbers if you want to pick some up:
Timing Belt - MD326059
Timing Belt Tensioner pulley - MD129355
Timing Belt idler pulley - MD156604
Auto Hydrolic Tensioner - MD164533

For the balance shaft eliminator kit, you can just turn the bearings that are already in there to block off the oil galleys and buy:
The stub shaft - MD098626
Balance Shaft Cap - MD092785

Or you can get the whole BS kit here: EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts
