HELP weird problem after timing belt and new head gasket

so i replaced my timing belt, balancing shaft belt, water pump, all the pulleys, head gasket, all the gaskets on the intake, and the exhaust gasket, well when i started pulling everything apart i realized my balancing shaft belt was already broken, however it didnt do any damage to the timing belt[thank god]. the heads look good when i pulled em off. now when i start the car up it screeches. thats the best i know how to describe it. i took off all the belts except my timing and balancing shaft of course. and it still is making that noise. it sounds like its coming from the intake side of the block near where the coil pack is mounted. oh i have a galant vr4 so its 6 bolt but set up just a little different than a eclipse/talon i have no idea where to start looking besides tearing everything out again. if anyone live close you can come by just pm me. i live in maryland just inside the north of pg county.

well mine was screeching every time i hit the clutch... just tightened my alternator to make belt a little tighter and it went away........ maybe some help lmk

I'd say I'm 90% sure that you need to tighten up your alternator belt.
It's really simple, just loosen the bolt on the top mounting bracket of the alternator, pull the alternator forward til the belt is snug, then tighten it back down.

Guys he said he removed the accessory belts. Possible the timing belt is rubbing on one of the covers.

it might be a vacuum leak on the intake making the noise. nope. the intake gasket looks like it sealed well. i am completely lost. it sounds like its coming from the intake side up at the top of the head. now could my balancing shaft make that noise since the belt was broken?

i had a similar problem on my 420a, it ended up being a timing belt pully bearing failing. but when this happened it sounded kinda ghoshtly.

i would agree with shockracer, could be the balance shaft belt tensionor too. timing belt could be too tight!!

i replaced all the tensionor's for the timing belt and balancing shaft, how tight should it be when i put everything together?

so it turns out it was the balancing shaft bearing
