A friend of mine has a 90 Talon AWD. SMIC, piping, small 16g, o2 housing, DP and various other mods.
About a month ago he bought a 2g oil feed line kit, the one that comes off the oil filter housing(??) instead of the head. His reason for it was to supply more oil to the turbo. Fair enough argument.
Well about 2wks after installing it, he blew the turbo (running 20psi). He thinks he blew it because it was getting too much oil.
Now the obvious question, can you blow your turbo from too much oil? My friend is a qualified mechanic and I don't doubt his knowledge. But could it possible be something else.
If more info is needed I'll do the best I can to come up with it.

Yes that is entirely possible. I did the same thing with a 14b last year. Some Mitsu turbos are OK from the filter housing and others aren't. If you get too much pressure at the CHRA, it will begin to push oil past the seals and into the IC pipes. It is then burned in the combustion chamber and you get smoke out the tailpipe. Many times, the turbo is not completely destroyed; many times you can get away with restricting the oil to the turbo and then cleaning out the IC pipes. But if the turbo suffered prolonged use, many times it will require a rebuild.

Just tell him to get oil from the head on a Mitsu turbo or restrict the oil coming from the filter housing.

Thanks man. He has since put on an 18g and returned to the stock oil feed set up
