im looking at a new trubo setup and i am deciding between these two turbos. and i was wondering what everyone on here thought was a better turbo. it will be daily driven car. but a little late spool up is now big deal. but if anyon has any input it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks Robert

im aiming for like 400 or right below. and i would like to get full spool by 4k

TD05H 20G if you're running under 25psi. Spools as quick as a 16G, tons of pull on top.

Consider the HX35 in a DSM Bolt-On turbine housing as another option; the 50-trim isn't an option for me at all. I'm fed up with the poor reliability and fragility of the Garrett Hybrids.

yea i read about the hx35. but i think im goint with the 20g for reliability and fast spool and direct bolt on ability.( same oil lines and stuff). now should i get the td05 or the td06? i heard the td06 has more top end but spools a little bit slower then the td05. how much slower are we talking?

300-500 rpms slower than the TD05H turbine, depending on supporting mods (cams, exhaust, intake) and how healthy your engine is.

With stock cams, a TD05H 20G should see full boost around 3600-3800 rpms. It's my favorite turbo for a street car running under 25psi. By TD05H, I'm talking about the turbine ONLY...this has nothing to do with the cold side.

Got ya. so who sells the td05h 20g you speak of. i have 272 cams also.

I have about (8) 20G's to choose from at my shop. All of them will be fully rebuilt before they leave and come with a 30-day warranty.

All of mine look like this one that I recently rebuilt for a customer:

Just out of curiousity and not to change the subject of this thread, but how much do you sell those 20G's for? I have a friend who may be interested.

yea i looked at the 18g for a second and its still an option but i havent heard much about them. i also dont want to be pushing my setup to the edge all the time.not saying i would be with the 18g but if 400hp is maxxing it out i would rather get the 20g.

Am using a Bullseye T04B 50-trim and having pretty good success with it. Been running it at 1.55-1.6 bar so far for about 6 months and it feels nice. Spools pretty well and keeps pulling right up to redline.

You will be to get 400whp out of the td05h 20g. Don't try to get 20g power out of a 16g hotside:) You need the td06h or td06 turbine wheel with the 7cm^2 turbine housing to have the proper flow to merrit the 20g wheel.

Im running a 20g right now with 272's...i actually got it from jusmx141, looks exactly like the one in the picture, and i cant say enough good things about it.

the spool kicks the $h!t out of my old PTE5031 and pulls just as hard.

Only concern I have is the TD05H 20g's I've heard having early failures with the thrust bearing. Seemed to be a typical 20g failure.

Anybody with experience want to comment?

I will probably go with the TDO6h model. I dont think that its such a great idea have that much meat packed into a little house.
