ok, im gonna be short and sweet. i know that a 2.3l stroker is a great way to make alot of touque, and add a few extra ponies as well. im trien to make the worlds fastes FULL WEIGHT automatic trans dsm. (dont down me with the cost, i have sponsers.) the big question is, i have heard about the cranks snapping on the stroker motors. with the power i will need to make, (around 650hp) i dont want to have put a new crank in every few months. should i go with the 2.3, or stay with the 2.0? im am running a gt35R, with a td04 cover plate, 1200cc injectors, dsm link, 1g head..suff like that. let me know what you all think, i wanna order my parts this week.

I have never heard of the crank snapping and I have seen a few high HP stroker engines.

It isnt just a problem with the strokers. All the high HP cars have broke crankshafts from what Ive heard. Whether its 2.0, 2.3 or whatever... it can happen.

I have heard of maybe 15 cars actually breaking a crankshaft. Most of it was due to something stupid not just HP. If Shep can run a stock crank for as long as he does I find it hard to believe that some one with half the power will snap alot.

If you are really worried, and you are using you sponsors check book, then have them poney up for an after market crank. Scat makes good stuff, or you can go ape shit with a Sonny Bryant (SP) billet crank. If you break either of this you did somethign wrong.
