Ok my exhuast "stock" has a hole in the flex pipe so I am going to build a stainless steel exhuast system with my friend. I want the exhaust to be turbo back but I dont know how much pipe I will need and what size. I was thinking 3" all the way, downpipe and all but is that to much???
I am not going to do any huge performance mods anytime soon so will 3" be to much? Should I just go 2.5 for downpipe and 3" rest of the way?
Any help will be much appreciated.

yes, 2.5" dp and 3" rest of the way. 3" dp would be a little much with out alot of mods done.

Correct me if im worng, but if you put a 3" exhaust on a stock car you may experance boost creep. This can be remidied by grinding you the divider that is in the stock turbo on the exhaust side or porting out your wastegate.

But all in all, a 3" exhaust system is pretty good. I have seen many people running a 3" on there DSM's

TO make it easier on you make it a 2.5 inch from turbo and get the flange from rre or anywhere else they sell flanges and then get a flex pipe and weld the rest of the exhaust..and how are you bending the piping...crush or mandrel...mandrel much better...


and yes you will get boost creep from the turbo back..there is alot more exhaust flow and then turns boost creeping like a mofo..

Im getting mandrel bends and I already bought a 3" inch flex but i will see if they can just give me the 2.5 instead i dont think they have shipped it yet. Thanks for the help and doesn't an O2 dump help with boost creep i was thinking of getting one but I dont want the loudness so maybe get a recurculating one.
