a) Yes, but I just need someone with experience to validate my choices.
b) No, I just want someone to tell me what to do.

Pretty much i was doing some research and was looking for the best fitment for a Flush look without rolling my fenders. Currently have a 205-50-17 on stock height but plan on ordering EZ-Street Megan Racing Coilovers and lowering the car. I found that alot of people with the 2G like the 235-40 setup. but at the same time mine is a FWD model not AWD like most. Im not trying to Rub just want a nice flush look.

Thanks

Probably 245/40 or 235/45... Depends on the profile you want. Since you're going for a flush look you probably don't want your tire bulging and 225 may be a better look.

5) Why won't you roll your fenders?

Without knowing the offset, it'll be REALLY tough to say what'll be the best. I'm running 235's on mine, with a pretty decent drop and it rubs slightly without rolling the rear fenders.

I have a set of track wheels from my other car, that also fit and have 255 wide tires. They'll rub and would require a decent roll, but due to the offset difference, still fit roughly the same on the outer fender.

Offset makes all the difference.

225/45 is a good size, but you could go wider depending on the offset. You don't want that much negative camber in the rear either, under 1 degree is ideal.

+2 on this. I run 225/40/18 on my 18x7 +40 offset rims with no rubbing issues and I have a 1.7/1.4 drop with H&R springs+camber kit. I would not go wider being that the width of the rim is 7 inches. People with the evo 8 rims run 235/45/17 with good success in our cars.

Well I'm gonna try and go with the 225-40-17 I did see the +32/+42 stamped on the rim unsure of what that is.

Edit: if I go with 225-40 in the rear will I have to roll fenders?

Nah, you'll be fine. You can actually fit the 225-45 tires as long as the drop isn't super low. Just remember that you will actually be lower to the ground running 225-40 instead of 225-45 and the ride quality will be a little bit more harsh. I personally think the 225-45 would be the best combo on the 17's in terms of filling in the fender and having better handling as the majority of dsm'ers run 45's on 17's.

Just realized you have a N/T. I would double check but I have seen people run the evo 8's on 235/45/17 with success on the GST. Not sure if they have the same clearance as an NT eclipse though.

Everyone thanks for the help but i have decided to step it up a notch and upgrade the wheels i had, I am going to a 18x8 1/2 in the front and 18x 9 1/2 in the rear. bought them for a great price and gonna make them work!

Fronts already have tires on them which are 205 or 215/35 and the rears have 225/40, The offset i have never seen before i will post a picture in a minute of the inside of the rim so you guys can take a look and let me know, a kid in school told me it was +15 but i just want to verify.

Mind you i may be lowering the car on coils or just springs not sure of my plans yet..

Those tires seem really narrow for such wide rims, unless your going for that stretched look. With +15 offset they will stick out a bit too. On a 2g, 8-9" wide rims with around +40 offset usually sit flush with the body. So that should give you an idea of how they'll fit.

Doh! :ohdamn: My mistake, post is now appearance forum friendly. :)

OP- If you can't find any info on the rims themselves, you could easily measure the offset yourself. Check out this link for more info: https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html

Are you a 2gb or a? Due to knuckle design will depend on tire choice as well. Check 1010tire.com they have a wheel/tire calculator.

All i know is i have a 97 Eclipse GS/RS whatever it is with the 420A engine.

This is only for rear knuckles and he's not running a wide enough tire to have to worry about that. That only comes into play in the 245+ tire size (assuming the offset is adequate).

I did find a set of Decent tires for DIRT cheap i may go with and the size im looking at is a 235-40.

I doubt anyone has a setup like im going to go to.. but if so a picture would be awesome since im not home and cant just toss em on the car..

I have about an inch of play from the inner side wall running 225/45/17. Do you think I will rub if I upgrade to 235/40 or 235/45 based on the photo?
