tire question????

I just ran across a thread that said that a 255/45/17 or even 275/45/17 are fine to use but, one DSMer told me that 215/45/17 is the max (to be safe) what do you think???

For what car? A 1g dsm is 235/40/17 40 mm offset. Any thing else and you have to roll the fenders and have wheels sticking out of the fenders or tire rub.

Umm yea maybe, with a ridiculously offset wheel. Not many DSMers use wheels with the required offsets for that wide of a tire.
