2G Timing or Boost control issue?

After breaking my bs belt I finally got the car together and I'm having some top end power problems. Around 5500 rpm the car seems to fall on its face but the rpms continue to climb but don't feel much acceleration. I also noticed that my boost seems to fall from 15 psi to about 10 psi around then. When I put it into neutral while cruising it either a.) Idle drops to around 300 rpm then recovers or b.) The car stalls.

Also when I let the car idle after about 2 minutes it dies then will struggle to restart.

Does this sound like more of a timing issue or maybe a boost leak?

I could be wrong but how are you running your BOV? is it recirculated or vented to atmosphere? Iv read alot on here with cars doing that when vented to the atmosphere.. Check all your couplers though.. make sure everything is tight if some are loose.. spray hairspray on the pipe before putting on the coupler it will help with it to adhere and stick better.. the drop in boost could be a leak or even boost creep..

will be doing a boost leak test soon. Also forgot to mention when i get around 6000 rpm the engine sounds like it is roaring (like when your approaching redline.) Could this be the ecu pulling my timing due to a bent trigger plate tapping on the crank position sensor making the knock sensor pick it up as knock?

You just put a fresh head on? Recheck mechanical timing?

head was rebuilt 10k miles ago, when my balance shaft belt broke it threw my timing off and I reset it but it might not be on time 100%

That wouldve been one of the first things I checked.

When I looked at it after retiring it looked dead on but all 4marks might not line up, will post pic soon
