I have a 1992 talon tsi and i am in the process of installing a timing belt but i need to know what i can do for a pulley tensioner. Not the pulley that you insert a bolt into but the one that has the two holes in it?

well i guess my question can be forgotten since i have found the answer to my question but here is the link to the answer if anyone else has the same issue

tiny allen wrench trick for sure. when you compress the tensioner in a vice do so very slowly. its possible to squish them together to quickly and ruin 'em. the stupid timing belt tool thing is dumb. regular old fashion way is best in my opinion. but every one has there own differant ways of doin stuff... so, to each his own

I just did one this way last night. The other 3 I have done are still running so I guess it works .

I use a pair of allens to get this done. always takes me 2-3 tries before I get the tensioner to arm gap correct.
