Am redewing my crankshaft seal and my Balance shift belt and t-belt all at one. I know some one that said i should just cut the balance shaft belt and not even use this.

Should i install the balance shaft belt or just leave it off, if i did not do a kit ont he shafts so if ya know the answer let me know.

i found out that when i bought my eclipse it didnt even have a balance shaft belt on it, and the ride was very smooth. id say just leave it off

If you want to remove the balance shafts you cant just leave the belt off, you need to remove the rear shaft which is connected to the oil pump, which is part of the front case, which is a huge pita to remove with the engine in the car. If you are ambitious enough to go ahead and remove the t-case (if awd), oil pan, oil pump pickup screen, front case, and all the timing belt related parts that need to come off anyway, then you can remove the shafts for under 50 bucks, otherwise you need the balance shaft belt so the twin shafts can do thier job correctly instead of just having one shaft flopping causing more uneeded and possibly damaging vibrations.

You do not need the front Balance Shaft belt on. It doesnt hurt the motor any to have it off, just leave the balance shaft in the block to block off the oil ports. You still have the rear balance shaft so with that said, IMO leave it off.

I have lost a motor to the balance shaft belt breaking and entangling in the timing belt taking it out... Say goodbye to a brand new head! :thumbdown I also know people who have been affected in that same way. All it does is adds security so you know nothing is going to come off and take out the timing belt. Doesnt affect your performance at all, if anything its less rotating mass... If there is any vibration, it will be hardly noticeable!

I would also make sure your front main oil seal is not leaking, or anything else for that matter. Timing belts don't like oil, your motor won't like an unhappy timing belt and you won't like what happens when your pistons get raped by your valves.
That being said, I just had a balance shaft belt go that took out the timing belt. I hope to get pics up soon, but it sort of looks like a flying saucer crashlanded in a crater...

Okay dont listen to what they said above. They are giving you false information.

Either put on the Balanceshaft belt, or else do a balance shaft removal.

If you do a BS removal it is possible to just remove the rear balance shaft and not the front shaft but you need to at least remove that.
Removing the rear balance shaft isnt a walk in the park with the motor still in the car so have fun if you do the removal.

If you do a search I'm positive you will find OOOOOODLES of information on this topic. SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH!

Exactly, you can leave the front shaft just sitting in there to block the oiling holes without a belt but you MUST remove the rear shaft as well. If you dont understand why its so bad to leave one shaft in there spinning without the other to cancel its vibrations then just belive mitsu, they either had both shafts or none in all the 4cly motors they built... maybe thats for a reason...

If you decided to do the eliminator, I would replace the front main seal along with the front cover gasket. If you decide to put the belt back on, make sure no oil is leaking from anywhere, like I said above.

You need the block off bearings as well or remove your old ones and turn them so they block off the oil passages where the balance shafts use to be.

Not if he leaves the front(actually right) shaft in. The rear(or left) shaft does not have oiling holes. This would be a very hard thing to do while the engine is in the car, I did and wish I had just left the shaft in. You need to drop the front of the engine way down and it is still hard to get the block off bearings back in.
