timing belt issues

I have changed the timing belt twice on my car but it keeps slipping.When I bought it I replaced the water pump without a new tensinor so that was the first time. This time new everything belt tensinor slipped again bent valves any ides why

did you get it right, torque the tensioner, follow the steps. If your having problems like this let the professional do it. You have two problems with this now it gets costly. I learned always change everything you should the first time.

beacuse you have a 4g63, and not a 4g37... jk (no hate please)

did you make sure you tightend the belt right?

heres how most people tell

just twist the belt 90 degrees, if its tight enough, it will not twist more then 90 degrees

i dont know about the 4g63 but on ym 4g37, the tentioner has 2 bolts that holds it tight, if one of those isnt tight (doesnt matter which one) it will come loose, so check that, because i made that mistake before, luckily my motor is a Non-Interference, or at the time it was

Did you buy the tool to tension your tensioner pulley before you put the hydraulic tensioner on?
