timing belt broke while driving!!

i was just driving around 10 - 18 miles an hour when my car stops accelerating and dies. I fond out its my timing belt. Is it possible that my valves are bent even though i wasnt driving fast??? what should i do now? spend my money on a new engine? please help.

ya dude, u have bent valves, it would be a a chance in hell if they wernt, sorry man

If the belt broke your head is done for. You don't need a new engine though, just a new head. Or you could have yours rebuilt of course. If the belt skipped one tooth or so you would or could be ok but if it broke or came off your screwed. Pull the head and check it out.

hey man i had the same thing happen to me. i broke mine at 18mph and i bent every valve in my head and bent them bad. hopefully you didnt damage the pistons to bad. i had just rebuilt my engine so i just nicked my pistons so there still good. my fully rebuilt head with SS valves cost me 700 with labor and that was everything new in the head
