Just a wanting to show everyone what happens when you let your timing and balance shaft belts go past the miles they were made for. I had my 99 on the road for 2 days after buying it. The previous owner said he replaced the engine 40k miles ago so I figured I had 10-20k miles left on the timing belt. WRONG! I think the balance shaft belt went first and took out the timing belt.
I should of replaced them immediately after buying the car so its my fault. The whole engine had to be replaced. Luckily I was able to purchase my wrecked 95 back and use that engine. 2008 was a bad year for me with DSM's...

2 valves broke off and punched a hole though the piston.
Hard to see but the cylinder walls are pitted from the loose valves. Not even sure if the block can be bored enough.
Chunks of metal I found in my turbo. Much more inside.
Still missing 2 valve stems somewhere...
